Where are the motorcycle films? - We want motorbike movies!

Just last week the movies 'Rush' took to the big screens at the cinema. The movie about Niki Lauda and James Hunt went down a storm with motorsport fans and many of them describing it as “Brilliant”, “Incredible” and “Fantastic!”, etc.

I've as yet not seen the movie. So I couldn't comment on what it's like myself but what I do like about the movie (without seeing it) is the fact they set the movie at different circuits in the UK. They used things that are current in a way that was old.

The other big movie in the motorsport world was Senna. That also went down a storm! And, I have to say that was a brilliant movie.

However, I soon start to wonder where the motorcycle movies are. I mean, Joey Dunlop is a legend! Where is the movie about him and his lifestyle within the sport? I for one, would love to watch that. I know there has been a documetary aired on ITV4 about Joey, and that was brilliant but to get it or another like it on the big screen would be brilliant for motorcycle racing, as well as for fans.

As in Formula One, we had many legend motorcycle racers too. Niall MacKenzie, Joey Dunlop, Mike Hailwood and Barry Sheene to name a few. So where are the movie's about them?

For sure, there are DVD's and documetaries aired on television but there isn't any movie that I know of that's been screened on the big screen?

More recently, we have the movie about Guy Martin at the Isle Of Man TT races called TT: Closer to the edge, which was a brilliant insight into the TT and what riders like Guy (Is there any other rider like Guy?!) get up to at the track and away from it!

But I feel there should be more of these types of movies in cinemas. It wouldn't hurt would it?

The way that the British Superbike championship screen a review of the season is brilliant. It really gives the fans something else. Some access to their favourite stars. And, to really find out what does go on when the Eurosport camera's aren't rolling!!

The series has many thousand fans following them on Twitter and liking them on Facebook, the series has a lot of fans. Which many of them go to the cinema to see these reviews so I'm sure many of them would go to watch movies like Rush and Senna. Or Fast and Dunlop for example?

In many years to come. Who knows we may be seeing a movie about one of our current stars. Josh Brookes for example. It would be fantastic to see in depth how he changes from roads to race track to motorcross and trials! He is simply a bike fanatic?
