7 Places To Ride To Up North This Christmas

Here at We Buy Any Bike, we are based in Yorkshire, so we thought we’d share our collective favourite places to ride to on Christmas!

For many of us, it simply isn’t Christmas without a festive ride. The roads are generally quiet, and for some of us, it can be a family tradition! These are just some iconic places in Northern England. If you have any other suggestions, don’t forget to leave them in the comments!

Skipton

The historic town of Skipton is a beautiful place and it's absolutely lovely in the festive period. The roads around Skipton offer some exceptional scenery, filled with beautiful rolling fields and farms galore.

Hollingworth Lake

This seems to be the most popular one in the We Buy Any Bike office! We have spoken about Hollingworth Lake in quite a few bikers guides. However, this iconic place, based near Rochdale is popular for bikers the whole year-round, so it isn’t a surprise to see motorbikes here on Christmas Day. You’re likely to find bikes parked outside The Wine Press.

Squires

Another extremely popular place to visit for northern bikers is undoubtedly Squires. This has been a biker themed stop point for over 65 years, and it is still, if not more popular than it was back in the day!

Malham

In our opinion, Malham is a real hidden gem. Although the road to get to it can be quite tedious; on a quiet day, it can be a very mentally rewarding ride. Being in Malham feels like you’ve stepped into a scene from Emmerdale. Stop off for a quick walk around the village, and don’t forget to stop off at The Buck Inn for some nice food – personal recommendation!

Christmas in Whitby

Do you fancy a trip to the seaside? Get yourself down to Whitby! Honestly, I’ve never been to Whitby around Christmas, but I might treat myself one Christmas (it’s a bit short notice now… or is it?)

Otley to Blubberhouses

This is another place I’ve quite honestly never been, but I’ve heard a lot of good things and I’ve seen it in the distance when I’ve been out on the road myself. It looks very intriguing! BBR also says that it is quite a hazardous ride, just a little warning to you!

Devils Bridge at Christmas

This is another iconic place that is very popular with bikers. There are a couple of Devils Bridges in the UK, and you can probably take a trip to the one most local to you, but we can’t vouch that you’ll see any other bikers. At the Kirkby Lonsdale one though, it’s highly likely!
