Located just North of Greater Manchester, the borough of Rochdale is a lovely place to be a biker. If you choose to take a trip here, you’ll have the beautiful Hollingworth Lake on your doorstep, which is particularly nice in the summer!

Rochdale has a population of over 200,000 residents, and the climate over here is pretty much like anywhere in Northern England; cloud the majority of the year, with a bit of a hint of warmth in the summer. The chance of rain in Rochdale is generally pretty average to high from August to January – from then though, you’re good to go.

Good Fillers Sandwich Bar

When you’re out on the road and your tummy starts grumbling, feel free to pop into Good Fillers Sandwich Bar! This biker-friendly cafe offers lots of hot and cold delicious treats on the menu, ready to fuel you for the ride ahead.

The Wine Press

Some of you local folk might know The Wine Press as the ‘Fisherman’s Inn’, its former name. For those of you who’ve never heard it, if you pay a visit in the summer, you’re in for a treat! Hollingworth Lake, where it is situated, is a very popular riding spot for bikers, and it’s also a place you’ll probably see the We Buy Any Bike team on our summer days off!

Rivington Hall Barn

Don’t let this Saxon Barn deceive you. Contrary to what the website may be telling you, they don’t just do weddings! Head on over to their reviews and you will find that this is actually a really popular spot for a biker’s brunch! Surrounded by wedding-worthy scenery, the Bolton-Based Barn offers some lovely treats for a mid-day ride.

Ellenroad Engine House

Keep an eye out on the Facebook Page for these guys. They often have ‘classic vehicle’ events on, and there are often some old bikes that turn up there too!

Royal Toby Hotel

Located in a secluded area of Rochdale, the Royal Toby Hotel offers secure parking for all vehicles. The Flying Horse Hotel

Based in the heart of the town centre of Rochdale, The Flying Horse is very welcoming of bikers. During August, they work in collaboration with Rock In, Rock Out... remember that festival we mentioned earlier? The guys at The Flying Horse have 10 en-suite rooms on offer, and parking can be a bit of a tricky one, being in the city centre. We highly recommend viewing the regulations on their website before setting off!

Fernhill B&B

For over 14 years, Robert and Jennifer have opened the doors of their B&B to guests from all walks of life. From just £32 per night, you can stay at this lovely accommodation spot, and there is an extra £4 per person, per night for breakfast. Fernhill B&B is located on a private road in a secluded hamlet with Private parking.

Oakdene

Located in Newhey, Rochdale, Oakdene is a dainty B&B that is situated in a peaceful and tranquil area; on private land where you can park your bike without worry. Adjacent to the property is the quaint little village of Newhey. Here you will find a nice village pub along with a few restaurants, it’s a lovely place to have a nice stroll on an evening.

Rochdale is responsible for the popular jack-of-all-trades in business; the Co-op!
Back in 1930, and a little bit before then, there was a Speedway Team in Rochdale called the ‘Rochdale Hornets’. In 1970 they were reformed under the name ‘Belle Vue Aces’.
The Rochdale Hornets still technically exist today – they’re the city’s professional Rugby team!
Former Speedway champion, Peter Collins MBE hailed from that team too!
