The historic county of Yorkshire is in the north of England and is the largest county in the UK. Yorkshire has a population as big as Scotland’s and an area half the size of Belgium.

Yorkshire is special for loads of reasons, firstly there’s the landscape. The beautiful moors seem to be never-ending, and the untouched green Dales are perfect for long strolls. Also the sheer breadth of history. Every bit of British experience is represented there from Roman times to the 20th century.

The county is now divided into official sections; North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire. Some of these areas are considered the greenest in England, holding vast stretches of unspoiled countryside.

Motorcycle Clubs

Dambusters Motorcycle Club

This is a very relaxed biker group. They just want to hang out and go on fun rides with no politics! The club was formed around five years ago, based in West Yorkshire. They are a friendly bunch, who enjoys organising rallies, social nights and rite outs.  If you are in the area they like meeting other bikers so get in touch!

Barnsley Bikers Club

Founded back in August of 1985, many of the founding members are still active in this club. They have open doors to anyone interested in motorcycles regardless of age, gender or experience. They often organise tours not only throughout the UK but also in Europe, as well as regular meets. If you’d like to see what the club are all about. Why not go and see them at The Keel, just off Stairfoot roundabout. They meet every other Wednesday at 8:30 pm and love people getting involved.

Cafes and Accommodations

High Grange Holiday Cottages and Farmhouse

This is the perfect place to explore the North Yorkshire countryside. The converted cottages and farmhouse make for an ideal getaway for a group of friends or family. It is located about a ten-minute walk from the village of Exelby. Here you’ll find some traditional pubs, beer gardens and little cafes.

This is a great base to check out the nearby towns, villages and twisty roads. Close by to National Parks and market towns of Bedale, Leyburn, Middleham, Ripon and the historic city of York. Bikers often stay here for the secure parking and drying facilities.

This is a beautiful 17^th century full of charm and character. They offer quality accommodation and first-rate food. Well located in the little villages of Coxwold. In the rolling green countryside of North Yorkshire Moors and National Park.

Known locally as a restaurant famous for its amazing dishes, you can start the day with a hearty Full English. All the delicious ingredients are fresh and locally sourced!

The Old Mill Hotel

This is a family-run country house B&B set in the countryside of Yorkshire Wolds, midway between Driffield and Scarborough. They offer seven luxury en-suite rooms. Not only do they have accommodation but they also have a traditional bar and a delicious a la carte restaurant... What more could you want?!

The Old Mill is a great biker hotel, offering motorcycle washing facilities. Along with this, it also has a drying room as well as secure parking.

Suggested Motorcycle Route

York - Thirsk - Grassington - Keighley - Halifax

On this route, you’ll head to the beautiful green landscape of the Dales. Giving you great coffee spots along the way taking you through lots of little villages and towns. Taking this route will bring you out to the Squires Cafe Bar. Which is a well-known biker cafe and in summer has around 200 parked outside!
