The Freebird – This multi-award winning free-house is very welcoming towards bikers. Based in Newcastle under Lyme, the guys at the Freebird together with Greedy Pigs MCC host an event around Easter time to show off their bikes for charity! The pub also hosts band nights on the first & last Thursday of every month.

Shobnall Sports & Social Club – Commonly known as the Rockbar, this bar is run by the Unwanted MCC! Based 40 minutes outside of Stoke-on-Trent in Burton-on-Trent it may come as no surprise that the Rockbar is probably the most biker-friendly bar in the area.  Since 2009, the team have made a few alterations to mainly the stage area, changing the whole place into a little Live Music Venue! The bar is open to the public on a Friday night. The Unwanted MCC also host occasional events and camping!

The Trucker’s Rest – As the name states, this venue is a hotspot for trucks. Based on the A5 in Cannock, Staffordshire, this cafe is also a great place for bikers to meet.

The Winking Man – Based 40 minutes to the North East of Stoke-on-Trent in Upper Holme, Leek, the Winking Man is a great handout spot for bikers. The venue itself hosts many events; a popular one is Rock Night. Due to its popularity, owners of the Winking Man have created this event and evolved it into a club to which you can apply for a membership through the website.

Unwanted MCC – As mentioned earlier, the Unwanted MCC are the owners of the Rockbar, situated at Shobnall Sports & Social Club. Originally formed in the millennium by a group of 7 members, today the club supports many charities in the events they host.

Potteries MxC – This family-friendly club are affiliated with the AMCA, they host fun events and are very active on their Facebook page.

Biker Routes in Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke – Newport
This short but sweet ride takes you right through the country roads. Catch it on a summer day to fully embrace it. This route is mainly on a straight quiet road with just a couple of twists and turns along the way. Starting in Hanchurch, it’s pretty much a straight road as you pass through Eccleshall, Newport centre, and through to Crudgington. If you like, you can follow on that road and head on over to Shrewsbury, which will add just an extra 13 and a half miles onto your journey.

The Stone Loop
This fun local loop is great for any adventurous rider. Filled with winding country roads, it would be advisable to take this route at a quiet time for best results.
